Acerca del empleo
The ALBA Synchrotron
ALBA is the Spanish synchrotron light source, a large research infrastructure operating 13 beamlines, complementary facilities, and an Electron Microscopy Center, this last in partnership with other institutions.
Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), it is funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament de Recerca i Universitats).
The synchrotron light produced by 3 GeV electrons is used by thousands of researchers to analyse and understand the properties and functionality of matter, spanning a wide variety of fields, such as catalytic research, health, energy production/storage, environmental research, communication technologies, or cultural heritage.

Internship opportunities for 2026-2027
ALBA makes available the possibility for university students to do an internship at its facilities. Students who are interested must apply in response to the annual call open from 24/03/2026 until 15/05/2026. Internships start from October 2026 onwards and receive a gross grant of 656 euros per month.
The Accelerators division at ALBA offers 5 internship positions for the next academic year.
- P1 – Física y tecnología de aceleradores de partículas: «Computation of beam instability risks of ALBA II»
- P2 – Física y tecnología de aceleradores de partículas: «Simulation of Synchrotron radiation Diagnostics for ALBA II»
- P3 – Física y tecnología de aceleradores de partículas: «Operation and development of the LLRF system»
- P4 – Física y tecnología de aceleradores de partículas: «Longitudinal beam dynamics studies for ALBA II»
- P5 – Física y tecnología de aceleradores de partículas/Informática: «Design of the pulsed magnets for ALBA II»
If you are interested, you must submit our proposal through the website https://albasynchrotron.slideroom.com (including personal details, CV and academic record).
